Oh, and just for the record, I am just a computer user, and I don't work for anyone right now. I want other people to be able to find this comment, so I will use the phrase sync Google Photos to PC and sync Google Photos to Mac and sync Google Photos to IOS and automatically download Google Photos. There is a paid version that gives you more than "read only" access to the Google Photos also. I can not tell you adequately how I have hoped to have this much control over my Google Photos account. "Sharing" is whatever photos you have access to because of "sharing". all the photos assigned to their individual albums. "Photos" are all your photos in one directory, regardless of whether they are in albums or not. Even better, it shows 3 folders: "Photos", "Sharing", and "Albums". From there, you can copy the photos however you wish. This program is free, and allows you to "mount" your "Google Photos" as a drive letter. I think the best one I have found so far, and I only began using it 24 hours ago. Occasionally, I go searching the internet for any new solutions. Hi there, I have been trying to find the perfect solution to this problem for many years. I posted this on another Reddit, but I think it belongs here also: I'd appreciate if someone could lay it out for me how the sync between PC - Google Drive - Google Photos works now with the new Google Drive desktop app and how do I keep syncing my PC folders while not sacrificing any of the three points I've mentioned before. Now, once they've replaced Backup and sync desktop app with a new Google Drive desktop app, seems like all the photos uploaded to Google Drive won't automatically appear in Google Photos? So if I want to keep all my files in Google Drive and still be able to browse photos on my phone, I'd have to use double storage and upload to both services as they are now 'independent' of each other and have their own storage? I adapted to this after some time and sorted all my photos before uploading to Google Drive. So you basically had to manage two separate locations for photos at once. Then they changed that the link from PC/Drive to Photos worked only one way and if you deleted a photo from a PC/Drive, you had to then manually delete it again from Google Photos. Delete from one location = delete from all locations. It used to be super-straightforward: upload from PC to Google Drive, then all photos appear in Google Photos. Have a copy of all my files on Google Driveīe able to see all my photos uploaded from my PC to Google Drive on my phone With every combination of a PC-phone I wanted 3 things: I am a pretty tech savvy person, but all the changes Google has made to how photos sync between PC, Google Drive and Google Photos confuse the hell out of me.
